Privacy
The only thing this site knows about you is what you typed into the form or your account yourself. No analytics, no advertising. A cookie is set only when you sign in to your account, and it carries nothing about you.
What is collected
When you join the list. Two things are required: your name and your phone number. Optional: shop name, city and a note. Also the business type you picked and the language of the page.
When you create an account. Your name, your email and an irreversible fingerprint of your password — the password itself is stored nowhere. Added to those are session records, whether the email is confirmed, the key if you have set up two-step verification, and the user identifier Google gives you if you sign in with Google.
In both cases an irreversible fingerprint of your IP address is kept. The raw IP is written to none of our files. That fingerprint does one job: it stops the same sender loading the form or the sign-in page over and over.
Why
For the list: to contact you once — to write to you on WhatsApp when Zerb is ready. For the account: so that only you can get into it. There is no other purpose. Neither the list nor the accounts are sold or shared with anyone.
Where it is kept
On the site's own server, as ordinary files in a folder that cannot be opened from the web. Neither the list nor the accounts are given to any third-party service.
There is one exception, and we do not hide it. Every new list entry sends a notification email to the owner's mailbox. That email contains what you typed. The mailbox is on Gmail. Account emails — confirmation and password reset — go from the site's own hosting mail to your address only.
How long it is kept
An unconfirmed account is deleted after 30 days: if the email was never confirmed, that record proves nothing and is not worth keeping. A confirmed account stays until you delete it — the delete button is on the account page and it works immediately, without asking anyone's permission. Session records disappear when the session ends. List entries stay as before: write to us and the entry is deleted.
Cookies
If you are only reading the pages, no cookie is set at all. Cookies exist only for the account, two of them: a short-lived cookie set when sign-in begins (to check that the form really came from your browser) and a session cookie after you sign in. Both are random numbers — they hold neither your name nor your email; those stay on the server.
There are no analytics and no advertising tools. The only other thing kept in your browser is your light/dark theme choice (bos-theme) — it never leaves your device.
The «Open the till» simulation runs entirely in your browser. It sends no name, no phone number and no cookie.
Third parties
The site's pages load nothing from any third-party server — no fonts, no scripts, no images. There is one exception, and you choose it: when you press «Continue with Google», we send you to Google and Google sees that. Only three things come back: your name, your email and the identifier Google gave you. If you do not press it, there is no contact with Google at all.
Deletion and questions
To delete your account, the «Delete account» button on the account page is enough. Write to us to come off the list, get a copy of your data, or have it corrected. Zerb holds the data and answers at this address.
